by User Not Found | Jul 08, 2011
Tam-Shield is lighter, stronger and easier to use and provides more coverage than traditional felt roll.

JOPLIN, Mo. – June 22, 2011 – TAMKO Building Products has added a new product to its underlayment line called Tam-Shield Synthetic Underlayment.

Benefits of Tam-Shield
Tam-Shield is lightweight and comes in a 10-square or 5 square roll for increased coverage per roll compared to traditional felt underlayments. In addition, the new Tam-Shield is very strong and has excellent skid resistance and tear resistance.

Ease of installation
To help with the ease of installation, the underlayment is printed with lay lines and guides which indicate where to install cap nails and nail guides for high wind installation. Tam-Shield comes in a light-gray color which provides a cooler working surface when installing as opposed to traditional black felt.

Limited warranty and product information
Tam-Shield comes with a 25-year Material Limited Warranty which may be viewed at tamko.com. This underlayment is not adversely affected by UV rays for up to 180 days, however it must not be used as the primary roof covering and the final roof covering must be installed before the structure is exposed to adverse weather conditions such as wind-driven rain, high-wind, hail, ice storms, etc.

Tam-Shield Synthetic Underlayment is available in either a 5-square (48-inches x 125-feed) or a 10-square roll (48-inches x 250-feet).

This product is available for sale now by contacting your local TAMKO district sales manager for pricing or by placing an order with the Corporate Customer Service Call Center (800) 218-2656.
