JOPLIN, Mo. – October 19, 2011 – TAMKO Building Products, Inc. is donating seven complete asphalt roofing systems and three composite decking packages to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s largest project to date where they will build seven houses in seven days. The build is part of the recovery effort in Joplin after the devastating tornado on May 22.
The weeklong build is an ambitious undertaking but undoubtedly will be one that this community won’t soon forget. Entering its ninth season, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will attract global attention to the city’s rebuilding efforts and to the profound character and resiliency of members of the Joplin community.
TAMKO has been part of the Joplin community for 67 years since it was founded in Joplin in 1944. “We are pleased to make this donation in support of the residents of Joplin and the rebuilding efforts that are taking place,” President David Humphreys said.
TAMKO also recently donated a complete decking system to another Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build that took place in Springfield, Massachusetts in August.
