TAMKO Wins Multiple Honors As Top Employer & Most Iconic Business

TAMKO wins Favorite Industrial Employer, Favorite Employer overall and Most Iconic Business in the Community just months after launching advanced Titan XT & StormFighter IR shingles
TAMKO Favorites of the Four States Honors

TAMKO Building Products has again been recognized with top honors as a preferred employer and for the first-ever time as an iconic business in the annual Reader’s Choice Favorites of the Four States contest held by The Joplin Globe, a newspaper in existence since 1896. Contest winners are voted on by community members in the Four States area, which is the place where TAMKO began in 1944.

“The overwhelming support of the community continues to remind us why we’re proud of our roots in the Four States area,” said David Humphreys, TAMKO Chairman and CEO. “Our dedicated friends and colleagues that we work with every day are the backbone of TAMKO’s more than 75-year success, and we’re honored to have the community’s recognition and support of TAMKO as a top place to work.”

Every year, The Joplin Globe newspaper’s community contest garners significant local interest and participation from community members in the Four States area, where Southwest Missouri, Southeast Kansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas connect. Community members are invited to vote on their favorite businesses in a variety of categories that include Automotive, Financial, Food, Entertainment & Recreation, Medical, Retail, Health & Beauty and Services. This year’s contest attracted more than 30,000 votes.

The official awards won by TAMKO in this year’s Favorites of the Four States contest were:

  • Favorite Industrial Employer for the fourth year in a row
  • Favorite Employer overall for the third year in a row
  • Most Iconic Business in the Community

Humphreys added, “Our employees in the Four States area and across the nation have dedicated themselves to helping make TAMKO a success, so to be named Most Iconic Business in the Community in this year’s contest is an achievement that all our employees can be proud of.”

For TAMKO, this year’s top honors are especially meaningful after the company successfully launched its most advanced shingles, Heritage Proline Titan XT and StormFighter IR, which include nationally recognized innovative features that were birthed in the Four States area.
